Position 1:Eddie Winn (Board President)
Eddie Winn is a dedicated parent and community member who has served as a school board trustee since May 2023. He has been a resident of Montgomery for over 20 years and has made significant contributions to the community. Eddie is the General manager/sales manager for Eagle Forest Products in the Southern U.S. Eddie's wife, Alice, is an instructional coach in the school district, and together they have three daughters. Their oldest is a 2023 graduate of Lake Creek HS and two others attend schools in the Montgomery ISD.
Eddie was a member of the 2022 Community Bond Task Force and played a key role in the planning of the CTE and Ag-Science centers, which were approved by voters in the May 2022 Bond election. Eddie is committed to ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education and is passionate about improving the school district for the benefit of the community.
Position 2: Shawn Denison
Shawn Denison grew up in Spring, Texas and graduated from Klein Oak High School in 1988, where he participated in FFA, various vocational programs and also earned a rank of Eagle Scout. He worked while attending college until his acceptance into the police academy in 1992. Shawn holds a Master Peace Officer license and has 30 years of law enforcement experience with Harris County. Throughout his career he has held positions in Patrol, Traffic, Animal Cruelty, Environmental Crimes, and was an Incident Management Coordinator for HCTRA (Harris County Toll Road Authority). Shawn recently retired after over 30 years of service to Harris County and followed that short time of rest by taking a position with Montgomery County Constable's Pct 1.
Shawn and his wife Kelly have lived in Montgomery since 2004 and have three sons, two that are MHS graduates and one currently attending Lake Creek High School. Kelly has been an educator in the district since 2005.
Shawn and his family are avid outdoorsmen and enjoy hunting, fishing, competition archery, and backpacking the high country.
Position 3: Laurie Turner (Board Vice-President)
Laurie Turner grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She graduated from Harding University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She continued her education to earn a Master of Education in Reading in 1999. Laurie taught for four years before coming to Montgomery, TX. in 2003. She previously taught in both public and private schools as well as in Guatemala for a year as a missionary teacher. After moving to Texas, Laurie earned her certification in Special Education. She taught Language Arts under Special Education at Montgomery Junior High for three years. After staying at home for some years while her children were young, Laurie came back to teaching in MISD as a Dyslexia Interventionist. She was trained on the Neuhaus program, Basic Language Skills, and taught on many campuses in the district. She is currently tutoring students privately in the Montgomery area.
Laurie has been married to Jeremy Turner since 2003. Jeremy is an alumnus of Montgomery High School and is a 17 year veteran of the Houston Police Department. Together they have two children, Levi and Avery, a MISD graduate and a current MISD student.
Outside of work, Laurie loves being involved at her church. She has been a Sunday school teacher, camp counselor, youth group mentor, and a praise team member. She helped start a group for young mom's called First Steps of Faith and she and her husband have served as Life Group leaders.
Laurie served as board president for the 2023-2024 school year and provides knowledge and experience as an educator to the board. She is a strong advocate for each and every student receiving the education and tools needed to succeed in life and an advocate for MISD teachers receiving the support they deserve.
Position 4: Paul Cameron
Paul Cameron was born and raised in Texas and has close ties to Montgomery since his family has lived here for several decades. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Science and a minor in Business Administration. During his time at Texas A&M, he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and The Ross Volunteers.
Upon graduation, Paul was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force and attended pilot training at Laughlin AFB. Throughout his Air Force career, Paul has served five deployments, flown more than 120 combat missions totaling over 1,200 combat hours and held numerous leadership positions at the Squadron, Group and Wing levels. He also received a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security and is a graduate of Air Command and Staff College. He is currently a Lt Col, serving as an Air Force Academy Liaison Officer in the Air Force Reserves where he mentors our high school juniors and seniors who are applying to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Additionally, he is a 737 Captain for a major airline based out of IAH.
In 2017, Paul and his wife Jennifer of 19 years, separated from active duty and moved back to Texas. They knew Montgomery, TX was the place to grow their roots and raise their two children within MISD schools. They are both very active in the community by volunteering their time with their children’s dance and swim teams, Meals on Wheels, Bentwater Volunteer Families, Grammy’s Cookie Convoy and they are active members of North Shore Church.
In his free time, Paul enjoys traveling with his family, hunting, fishing and spending time on their family ranch.
Position 5: Lizzy Ivey (Board Secretary)
Lizzy received a bachelor's degree in special education from Texas A&M University, a MsEd in Literacy Intervention from SUNY Potsdam, a MsEd in Educational Administration from Missouri State University, and a diagnostician certification from Lamar University. Lizzy is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University on track to complete in May 2025. Her research and instruction at Texas A&M focuses on preparing future educators in the science of teaching reading. Lizzy hold’s licenses in multiple states as a school administrator, reading specialist, special education teacher, English-language Learner teacher, and educational diagnostician, and has worked in schools across the globe. Lizzy is a member of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading, Council on Exceptional Children- Teacher Education Division, International Literacy Association, and the American Council on Rural Special Education.
Lizzy’s family became a part of the Montgomery community in 1996, when her father purchased land in Dobbin, which is known today as the “Flying I Ranch”. She is proud to be raising her three children, Clara, Connor, and Adrian, in the area, and stay busy with baseball games, golf matches, and swim meets.
Position 6: Mark Keelen
Mark Keelen grew up in Kingwood, Texas and attended Texas Teach University, where he met his late wife, Christi. Together, they had a son who is now attending Texas A&M University. In October of 2019, Christi passed away suddenly from a brain aneurism. In 2023, Mark married Rachel, a widow who had lost her spouse, a fellow firefighter and close friend of Mark's who was killed in the line of duty in October 2020. Over time, they fell in love, and after Mark's son graduated from Kingwood, Mar moved to Montgomery to marry Rachel and adopted her two children, who currently attend Montgomery ISD schools.
Mark worked for the Houston Fire Department for 21 years before retiring in December 2024 as a Master Firefighter and Incident Command Technician. Mark has a servant's heart and proven track record in leadership positions, including President of his state soccer board for 15 years, athletic booster club and Vice President of the PTA in his son's elementary, middle and high school years. He also received two Lifetime Achievement Awards for his contributions in PTA. In the fire department, Mark worked closely with Homeland Security in Special Events.
Mark looks forward to working closely with the current board members in sharing ideas, asking questions and helping in any way he can with current projects, problems and/or future plans for the district. Mark will be active and stay informed throughout the district at all grade levels.
Mark is excited for the opportunity to serve MISD and will continue to strive to keep MISD the Premier school district in Texas.
Position 7: Nate Robb
Nate Robb was elected to the Board of Trustees on May 7, 2022 and was sworn in as a new Board member on Tuesday, May 17. He served as Board Vice-President for the 2023-2024 school year and was re-eleceted in May 2025 for his second term.
Nate grew up in the Woodlands and attended McCullough High School. He has lived in Montgomery with his wife, Karli, and their three children since 2007. Two of their children are graduates of Montgomery High School (Class of 2019 and 2020), and one currently attends Montgomery Junior High School.
Nate pursued his passion and desire for being a business owner immediately following high school and now owns a commercial construction company and a fiber optics company. He and Karli are both committed to and heavily involved in the Montgomery ISD community. Nate has a strong passion for the district’s Ag-Science programs, and has served as the FFA Booster Club President at Montgomery High School for three years. He was also a member of the MISD Community Bond Task Force that presented the 2022 Bond proposal to the Board of Trustees before it was approved by voters in May 2022. Nate stated that it was his involvement in his work on the Bond Task Force that made him believe he could make a positive impact as a member of the Board of Trustees.
In his free time, Nate and his family enjoy outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing.
